Non-mydriatic Retinal Camera
Non-mydriatic Retinal Camera

The Topcon TRC-NW6S retinal camera takes high definition digital photographs of the back of the eye (the Fundus), without the need for dilation of the eye with eyedrops. Such photographs are taken as part of the basic eye examination routine. They have the dual advantage of producing:

  •  A permanent record of the patient fundus from which any change, indicative of a possible disease or condition, that may take place over time is easily detected and accurately quantified.
  •  A high definition photograph of the fundus that can be enlarged by the optometrist on the plasma screen in the consulting room to analyse details of vascular changes (Photo), optic disc characteristics and other fundus features that may be associated with possible pathologies.
For several conditions the pupils are dilated with eyedrops; via the use of an internal moving fixation device a mosaic of nine photos of the retina is produced.
