MICHEL GUILLON
Dr Michel Guillon PhD, FCOptom, FAAO, FBCLA, CCTI  is the Clinical Director of OTG Research & Consultancy and Director of eponymous optometric practice, MICHEL GUILLON, in London.
 
Dr Guillon is a Past President of the International Society for Contact Lens Research, the Immediate Past European President of the International Association of Contact Lens Educators, a past council member of the British Contact Lens Association and of the British College of Optometrists and a past member of the CEN and ISO technical working groups on contact lenses.
 
Dr Guillon is currently the Chairman of the Sports Vision Association, the review editor of Contact Lens and Anterior Eye the journal of the British Contact Lens Association, a member of the editorial board of Eye & Contact Lens the journal of the Contact Lens Association of Ophthalmologists, a member of the Medical and Scientific Board of the Tear Film and Ocular Surface Society and a member of the European Examination Group and of the British Chapter Committee of the Association of Clinical Research Practitioners. Dr Guillon is also a reviewer for several scientific and professional journals.
 
Dr Guillon is a Fellow of the College of Optometrists in the UK, a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and a Fellow of the British Contact Lens Association. He also currently holds membership of the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, of the Optometric Nutrition Society, of the Ocular Surface Society of Optometry, of the International Society of Refractive Surgery, of the Sociétè Française d'Optique Physiologique and of the Sports Vision Association.  Dr Guillon is holder of the Advanced Studies Certificate of the Sports Vision Association and a Certified Clinical Research Investigator in the first certification class of the Association of Clinical Research Investigators.
 
Dr Guillon has presented over 100 papers at national and international conferences, published over 60 scientific papers, co-edited a major text book on contact lenses with Professor Montague Ruben and contributed to 19 chapters in text books. Dr Guillon is a co inventor on seven US and four UK patents.
 
Dr Guillon's current activities include the delivery of optometric care to the public, specialising in the fields of contact lenses, dry eyes, co-management of refractive surgery and sports vision. The latter activity involves both the management of recreational sportsmen and elite professional teams and athletes. Dr Guillon’s research activities cover clinical research in vision and optical performance of all modality of vision corrections with particular emphasis on contact lenses and refractive surgery clinical and biochemical research of the tear film and dry eye problems and clinical research in sports vision sciences. The research activities include the design and development of new contact lenses, new examination (e.g. Tearscope) and management (e.g. ocular wipes) ophthalmic medical devices and of new instrumentation and analytic clinical techniques.
